I have chosen to write my paper #2 on Beyonce's video Run the World (GIRLS). I came across this video posted by Jessica Valenti, founder of Feministing.com. I find her very intelligent but also very funny, sometimes this balance between academic writing (blogging) and humor is really difficult to maintain.
Valenti is super opposed to Beyonce's video (as you can tell even by the title), but what is also really interesting is the way she frames her argument in the video. I like that she uses humour and sarcasm to appeal to the average listener, but backs up her argument with concrete facts. This video helped me set a tone for my assignment and helped me to reflect on my writing. Maybe it will help you guys too.
